I just got my copy of Alicia Keys' "The Element of Freedom". And I have to say it was well worth the purchase. A lot of good music on this album.
Anyways, here's a bonus track I got in the inbox. It's a bonus track off the Japan release of her album. Go cop the album.

THE ANDREW JACKSON DILEMMA
I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve. Mine was less eventful, but still funny in a way.
I decided to spend this New Year's Eve at church. I know right? But I decided to start the year off right. Clean slate. New start sorta thing. Actually the main reason I decided to spend NYE in church was because I was dead broke.
Sad, I know. I only had 20 bucks in my wallet. Choosing to save my last Andrew Jackson on some Vailima's for New Year's Day.
I arrive at the church. I enter the door. I say hi to people who I haven't seen for a very long time. Translation: I haven't been to church for a long ass time. Then I take my seat. I'm sober, conscious, and totally out of my comfort zone.
As the service goes on, I start to loosen up. I laugh, smile, and cry at some of the people recalling the past year. Everything is okay now. I don't feel totally out of place.
Then offering time comes. The pastor says we need to walk up to the front to give your offering. I only have the last 20 dollars I was planning on to get wasted the next day. And like something out of the Twilight Zone, time freezes. I'm sitting there with this dilemma. Should I give to God? Should I give it to the Chinese store owner? Maybe I can ask for change from someone? Why don't I have any one dollar bills? Lectures from old folks about stealing from God, getting leprosy, and something about saying bloody mary three times in the mirror.
I'm stuck, at a standstill, at a fork in a road. Call it whatever the hell you want to. I have to make a decision. And what do I do? I walk down the aisle. Yes, I decided to give the last of my beer fund to God. Every step down the aisle felt like walking the Green Mile.
Finally, I arrive in front of the deacon. The bill is all sweaty from my sweaty tight grip. I drop the bill in the plate like that old lady from Titanic did with that diamond necklace. I go back to my seat with some regret, but more of a feeling like now no one can say I didn't give a damn.
I get home, and go to bed sober. I wake up the next day, and I get a call from my boy. He tells me he's got a couple of cases of beer, some liquor, and BBQ on the grill. The day turns out much better than I anticipated, and I get plastered like I intended. Actually tenfold than I would have on a measly twenty dollars.
I guess it does pay to do good sometimes. (Read More...)

30 ROCK THERAPY SCENE
30 Rock is one of my favorite shows right now. You'd be a fool to turn away from a show that combines the talents of Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan.
In this scene, Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) is trying to stop Tracy from getting into dog fighting(obvious shot at Vick). Watch as Alec Baldwin nails every character he portrays. From Red Foxx to the white guy Tracy's mom cheated with to Mrs. Rodriguez on the 3rd floor.
Favorite quote: "I only act out cuz I want yo love. DYNOMITE!" (Read More...)
TONEY'S TAPE: SO SPECIAL
Here's a cut from Big Snoop Dogg's new album "Malice N Wonderland". The title is appropriate when it comes to any song combining the talents of the Neptunes, and west coast legend Snoop Dogg. This song right here is certified.

"THE BIGGER THE LIE..."
If you ain't up on the now completed HBO series "The Wire", then I'm sad to say that you have been deprived of some good television.
At first view, The Wire seems like your old typical Cops vs. Drug Dealing thugs show. But the more you watch it, it's way beyond that. There are no bad guys or good guys. Just a bunch of institutions going about their day-to-day.
The Wire also touched on the huge flaws of a poor city. The Wire touches on everything from the justice system to the education system to the port authority.
In other words, go watch it now. Buy it, rent it, steal it. Whatever, just watch it. (Read More...)

TONEY'S TAPE: FEAR THE FUTURE
It was a gloomy Veteran's Day yesterday, so I hooked up with some of the neighbors, and decided to crack open a couple of cold ones. Music was playing loud, kids running all over the place, chicken on the grill, just your typical holiday in Samoa.
While we were discussing hot political issues of the day (read:B.S.), one of the homies asked me for some music. Like any good DJ, I knew exactly what this lil' session needed. I walked to the whip, grabbed a cd, and proceeded to put it in the stereo. The song that soon followed was none other than Jackie Chain's "Blinded".
Everybody just went bananas. The Manfred Mann sample coupled together with the 808 drums. Jackie's verses full of southern swagger. This cat is certified. To make him more interesting is the fact that he's part asian part white. Which only added more interest in him.
But looking past his race, there is no denying this guy knows how to make a hit. With his hit single "Rollin" making noise all over the world, a mixtape with Diplo & DJ Benzi, and a record deal, there's no stopping him at this point.
Whatever you do, do not sleep on Jackie Chain. Or Alabama, period..
Here's the song in question that had everyone going crazy:
